The Science of Travel

Most of us usually think of travel in terms of fun and holidays and we tend not to think too much about the accommodation type such as if you are staying in Amsterdam holiday apartments as being the main decisive travel factor. We picture the parts of travel that we associate with our annual holiday such as the plane journey, the sightseeing and the cocktails without bothering our brain with the more complex matter of how it happens.

Take planes for example. We know they go up and we know they come down but it is like second nature to us, and we rarely think about how this massive capsule with three hundred people inside actually gets up into the air.

Although you do have to understand science and mechanics quite well to have a true understanding of how a plane takes off, we can understand in basic layman's language if only we choose to, but the thrill of the flight somehow attracts our attention more than the fact of how it stays up there.

Then there is the complex matter of air traffic control and we barely give a thought to how all those thousands of planes are crossing each other without there being any accidents.

Travel is fun and yet there is a much more in depth side of the science behind it to ensure that we all get there safely and on time (admittedly - this bit can be rare!).
